The UCLA History-Geography Project at Center X is one of the sites of the California History Social Science Project. We collaborate with educational researchers, historians and practitioners to design and lead professional development programs that enrich K-12 history-social studies instruction. The focus of our work is teachers and students in urban schools. We emphasize culturally relevant curriculum and research-based practices designed to meet the needs of a diverse student body. We work with schools and districts to customize professional learning that is hands-on and collaborative.
